Delete your Takeroom account

Takeroom, by NEXARLABS LTD

Last updated

Not live yet. Takeroom has not been released and the deletion endpoint this page describes has not been deployed. The page exists so the route to deletion is written down before anyone can create an account, not to describe something already running. Do not publish this page while that is still true — send people to the email address below instead.

Open item the exact app and developer name on the store listing, which this page must match.

1. From inside the app

This is the fastest route and it needs nothing from us.

  1. Open Takeroom and go to the Account tab.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  3. Correction A sheet titled Delete account? opens. Tap Delete. This cannot be undone.

Correction You can also open this page from the app: on the Account tab, tap Manage account, then Delete account online.

The deletion runs immediately. You do not need to email us as well, and you do not need to keep the app installed afterwards.

2. Before you delete

Correction If you have Pro, the app shows this before you delete:

“Deleting your account doesn’t cancel a subscription. If yours renews, cancel it in the store first, or you’ll keep being charged.”

3. By email

If you cannot reach the app — you uninstalled it, you changed phone, or the account will not open — write to hello@takeroom.app from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete your account.

Send it from the sign-up address if you can. If you cannot, tell us which address you used; we will ask you to prove the account is yours before deleting anything, because deleting somebody else's footage on request would be the worse failure.

4. What deletion removes

  • Every take you uploaded — the original video files.
  • Everything derived from them — the edits, the transcripts, the chapters, show notes, moments and retake findings, the posters and thumbnails, and the analysis the app measured off your audio.
  • Your episodes and their history — the library rows and every import, re-direct, transcription and export record attached to them.
  • Your account record and your subscription state.

Correction The app lists what goes:

  • Your videos on Takeroom’s servers
  • Your uploads
  • Extra hours you bought
  • Your sign-in

Deletion also removes the data kept with each episode: the edit, the transcript, who spoke when, the face-position tracks and the still frames.

Still frames are delivered through a content delivery network. Copies cached there can outlive the deletion until their cache time runs out.

5. What survives, and why

  • Backups. Deleted data disappears from our provider's backups on the backup rotation rather than instantly. It is not restored to the service; it ages out.
  • Billing records. Tax and accounting law requires us to keep proof of a transaction for longer than the account itself. These are records of a payment, not your footage.
  • Server logs. Operational logs that record a request having happened are kept on their own rotation.

Everything else is erased. Our privacy policy sets out what we hold and for how long.

6. Deleting one episode instead

If you only want one recording gone, you do not have to delete the account. Open the episode, open Manage, and delete it there — that removes the take, everything derived from it, and its history, and leaves the rest of your library alone.

7. Footage of someone else

If you appear in a recording somebody else uploaded and you want it removed, write to hello@takeroom.app. You do not need a Takeroom account to ask.
